For a second year in a row, GLOBUL will have its communication campaign to raise public awareness on the issues of the safe use of the internet and other modern technologies by children. The campaign will commence on February 9 – the International Safe Internet Day.

As part of its campaign, GLOBUL will send to all users of its mobile internet service a special text message with advice for effective parental control and safer use of mobile technologies by children. Practical tips, explaining how parents can protect their children while surfing the internet is available on GLOBUL mobile portal wap.globul.bg, as well as on the operator’s official website www.globul.bg in the GLOBUL For Society section.

Furthermore, the electronic newsletter for GLOBUL clients, as well as the company’s internal e-bulletin will also offer relevant information and advice for proper use of interactive media (internet, mobile phones) and prevention of the possible dangers for kids. Information brochures with that info will also be made available in all GLOBUL and official partner shops.

GLOBUL’s communication campaign will also include special messages to be aired on the most popular TV and radio networks as well as press and outdoor advertising.

The campaign is yet another step in GLOBUL’s strategy to ensure the safety of children who use modern technologies and will be implemented in cooperation with the National Safe Internet Center and the State Agency for Child Protection.

In February 2008, GLOBUL adopted the Code of Conduct for Safer Mobile Use by Younger Teenagers and Children. The Code of Conduct initiative is a form of proactive self-regulation, aiming to establish the main directions and principles for providing safe use of mobile content.

GLOBUL has developed easy-to-use parental control applications. The company’s mobile internet content is clearly marked according to its suitability for different age groups. Optional parental locks have been installed so parents can control their children’s access to unsuitable services and content.
